These corportations must think we are all suckers and patsies:

The drug companies over charging us for medicines,

Oil companies raising gas prices while making record profits-

Now here come the insurance CEOs to gouge us -they had no problem insuring us when they had no claims-now when they might actually have to pay something out they want to run.

If rates get much higher I will just self insure- put the cost of a premium in a savings account each year.

My house is built to the 2002 hurricane code and for most storms any damage I get will probably not reach the 2% deductable anyways- so why pay them thousands of dollars.

If you do not have a mortgage, and can afford the hit, this may be a conclusion you and many others will come to over the coming months.

That is the perfect Christmas present for those SOBs. Great thinking. When those brownies kick in, I bet their eyes will get as big  as ours when we are seeing those cancelations and price increases around 50%:blink::blink:. "Got to go, got to go, got to go right now."

Tip- do not eat any brownies from an insurance company. I wonder if it is illegal to mail poop to someone or a company???

It must be legal to mail poo poo...in Dallas, I must throw away 3/4's of it daily!

I like ecopal's thinking about an account for self insuring. Only good for us when we pay off the motgage here. I do believe our rates are lower since we have a "condo" like unit. Don't get me wrong...we pay for the building in other ways!
