Angels....

In 1990 I was living in Grayton Beach two doors from the cafe and had decided to go to the cemetary in Tennessee where a beloved of mine is buried. It was an anniversary date that we shared....and I just felt the need to be there. He had only been "gone" for 7 months and my heart ached. I stopped half way and spent the night with my parents, who were renovating a historical victorian home. My Mother told me she did not feel good about my going. But, I said I needed to and I would be getting up around 5:00 a.m. to leave by 6:00.

About an hour before my alarm went off I was awakend by a gentle voice calling my name. I looked towards the corner of my bed and saw a Male Angel approximately 13 feet tall. He was so beautiful and filled with light. He asked me, "Why do you seek the living amongst the dead? He is not there."

My eyes gently closed and I went back to sleep. My alarm did not go off and when I awoke my mother was sitting on the bed looking at me. She said that she at been awake since 4:00 a.m. and would do anything to keep me at their home. I told her about the angel and we both hugged and cried. Her arms around me were just what I needed to ease my pain.

I had never really thought about that scripture...at least not the way I have after that early morning encounter. But I came to realize the living are not with the dead....which are just the remains of our outer body. He is not in the ground. And I do not need to be in a cemetary to be near him. Of course that has not kept me from visiting it from time to time to honor his burial spot. We put bird seed in the angels hands on the stone instead of flowers.........big sigh.:blush:

I used to attend Berry College in Rome GA. That place is FULL of ghosts and I have a ton of stories from there.

Some short ones:

From time to time I smell my grandmothers powder (she's been dead since I was 10) in the most peculiar places, digging in the dirt, areas where there are no fragrances.

Caught my cat sitting on the stairs directly below a photo of one of my fav uncles. He sat there a good 5 minutes. Cocking his head back and forth like someone was talking to him...then he shot up the stairs into my bedroom.

A few days after the above mentioned Uncle passed, I had a dream. I was at a party talking with someone- I was sitting, they were standing but all around us were clouds. I look over my left shoulder to see a very formidable man walking toward me. Each time I look over my shoulder, he's closer. Very strong, tall, broad shouldered looking man. The last time I look, I am looking into his mid section, I look up to his face which is still blurry. He takes my hand, bends down and smiles. It's my uncle and says "I just wanted you to know I'm ok" winks at me, turns around and walks into the clouds.
Side note: My uncle had lost his leg as a child- but no crutches in the dream.

:love:Loved those sandflea:clap::clap:

When I was 6 I lived on a big pecan orchard and we had many animals, but my favorite was a little blue parokeet that could whistle the tune Dixie. We had him for a very long time...but then one morning he was sleeping at the bottom of the cage. My mom told me to put him in a shoe box and take him out to the soft dirt by the garden and bury him....which I did. As I was walking back to the house I heard that familar tune being whistled. I looked
around and then up into the sky and saw two beautiful female angels each holding the shoe box assending into the clouds. They smiled at me. I tried to tell everyone, but they just laughed. At that time I was too afraid to dig the site up to see if that box was in the ground. But, I bet it wasn't!:blush:

My angel story started a few years ago. I was in my business House of Angels and a former Miss America came in . She was so sweet and said she was going to be the host of a new show about angels. She asks me if I would be interested in helping with researching angel stories. I was thrilled to work on this project. I met the producer and he was such a cool man. We started collecting stories and the show was moving along. He was going to come down to Florida to film some of the stories. Then one day a young couple came into the shop and told me the most amazing one I ever heard. The woman, when she was a little younger had an abortion. One day in a mall she decided that she was going to kill herself. She sat on a bench in the mall and a old black man walked up. She opened up to this stranger and he listened. He changed her life that day. This story next is her husbands story and then mine. More soon!

The second part of the story begins with the husband. A couple months before they met each other. He loved nature and wildlife. He was reading a magazine about the outdoors and read an article about a bear. This story told about a man and his son being saved from this bear by a old black man. This story stayed with the husband.He just could not stop thinking about this old man and did not know why. Then he met this pretty girl and they really hit it off. After they married, she told him how she had almost committed suicide and the old man had saved her. He told her about the bear story, and how it had crossed his mind many times. This couple both cried when they told me this story....Next my part in the story.

I worked for a publishing company close to Nashville, Tennessee. I worked all night for a period of time. It was close to Christmas and I decided to buy myself the car of my dreams. I got the car on Christmas eve. It was a black Corvette with a license plate that said (Black Kat). On February the 12th early in the morning I was at a light on my way home. I saw this old black man standing in the middle of this intersection. He was saying something to me but I was tired and looked away. The light was red and he was still trying to get my attention. The light changed I looked back and he was gone. Friday the 13th I was on my way to work. I stopped at a light, the light changed and I was hit in the drivers door by a drunk driver.My car did a 360 and then the police car that was chasing the drunk guy also hit me and another 360. I should have died. My car was totaled. The steering wheel broke in my lap. My head broke the T-top and side window. I was trapped in the car. The police and firefighters used the jaws of life to get me out. Everyone thought I was dead. I was pretty banged up but not one broken bone. I did need a lot of stitches and later surgery on my face a few times. I told this story to the couple in my shop. I told them what this old black man looked like how he had a cane and his eyes looked cloudy. How he was dressed and that I believe he tried to warn me and I had not listened. This was the same man. That day was amazing....The Angel Show was replaced with a Miracle Show and Miss America was replaced with the guy that was John-boy on The Walton's.
