Gifts for Easter???

Do you give gifts for Easter??
My husband is out of town and he asked me last night if I got the girls something for Easter. I have a 21 month old and a 3 month old...what gifts?

I said the Easter Bunny is not Santa Claus. The Easter bunny brings eggs and chocolate....period. Right??

At our house, The Easter Bunny has shifted a bit from too much candy/sugar to little gifts. He brought Will both Obama books and an I-tunes gift card, and Kate got a bubble wand, cute new rain boots, a yoyoball, and a High School Musical CD.

When my kids were younger I'd put little spring toys and a movie in their Easter baskets because I didn't want them to have too much candy. My MIL always makes all the grandkids baskets full of candy.

This year my kids got smaller baskets but still got movies. Enchanted and the first season of Smallville on DVD (a great deal on Ebay for Smallville). We're going on a trip and they'll be watching them in the car tomorrow.

However you want to do the Easter bunny is fine. But once you start something you'll probably want to keep up the tradition.

I (that is, the Easter bunny ;-) ) did Easter baskets for hubby, mom, daughter, new BF, and me. Bought stuffed bunnies for mom and daughter, plus for daughter a chicken that dispenses jelly beans out its butt . We all got jelly bellies and chocolate eggs. Daughter always demands peeps and Cadbury eggs. My basket has a new Louis Vuitton wallet in it.

my son got a new hard case protector thingy for his nano iPod, 1 gift card for clothes, gift card for Cinnabon, Starburst jelly beans, Whoopers malt robin's eggs and a new tooth brush. (seems only appropriate with the candy.)

They are a little young to appreciate the Easter bunny yet, but I bet the older one would know what to do with the basket. Fill it up and empty it out! They're so precious and pick up everything so fast, just like little magnets. We always hid our kids baskets. Ours were mostly made up of candy, must have a big bunny, speckled malt eggs, jelly beans fo sho, and maybe a couple small Easter toys. That chicken butt thing sounds fuNN, BR.
