I agree that the word gets overrused, but I think we are using it properly when we describe armed men taking members of other nations hostage for profit and political reasons.

Good point, even when there are demands, terrorism is usually not practiced with economic benefit in mind -- usually the motivations are terror, death and destruction.

my older brother attended the naval academy...i believe that inscription is above the chapel doors at annapolis
