Linda, that's one of my favorite parables ever. I use it often, as there's so much wisdom in it. It's saying, Energy flows to where your mind goes, so be judicious. Applies to health issues too. Get your medical attention, but in between, don't feed illness by worrying it to death. Clear your mind with meditation or prayer, and thank your body for its strength and healing power. Feed the positive.

I do consider myself a Christian, but I do not like the televangelist/healing folks. Church services on TV is fine, just keep your 800 number off the screen. Just my opinion..

I'm assuming by your comment that you do not believe in the authority of Scripture. Which would mean that we are left free to assume whatever we like about God. (Which would mean that you don't really know whether he enters contests or wars.)

Sorry, Back to religion. It's interesting to me that some of my friends over the years that I would consider to be amongst the best, kindest, most open-minded, helpful, generous people that I will ever know aren't religious. They do the deeds and walk the walk of being superior human beings and if they do or do not believe in a higher power, I don't know. But they aren't church goers.
