You will be glad that you spent the extra money. It is well worth it. The complimentary beach chairs are great. They also provide towels so no need to bring your own. The chairs are set up in the morning so they are there when you get down to the beach. It is first come first serve but they will set up additional ones to accommodate everybody. The breeze is great and with the umbrella it's very comfortable. If you do get hot you can go for a dip in the ocean or a for a swim in the camp creek outflow which is nice and cool in the earlier part of the day and feels like a nice warm bath towards the end of the day. Compass Point was the first condo we stayed in because we have a pretty large group. I don't remember the unit number but it was over 3,000 square feet and accommodated our group very well. There are a lot of streets and board walks in Watersound to explore and you might just rent a few bikes in order to get around. You can do that right in Watersound. I'll try and post a pic or two of the beach.

Thanks so much for the info. Do they provide towels at the four pools? My daughter usually sits under the umbrella. My husband and I like to sit in the sun to get tan (I know, I know, we'll be sorry when we get older).

What is the beach like at Watersound? Is it flat or does it slope steeply? When you walk in the water, does it get deep very gradually? Are the waves good for using a boogie board?

Wow, you must have stayed in a very large condo at Compass Point if it was over 3,000 sf. There are just 3 of us, so we don't need that much room. Ours is a 2 bdm.

I guess it really doesn't make sense to spend hundreds of dollars to rent a golf cart. Bikes will be just fine.

IIRC and you are renting thru WaterSound (Noble House) the towels are in the room, not sure about the pools other than the beach club.

The beach is fairly flat, no drop offs out of the water, as for the water it changes daily. Don't fear though, there isn't that wierd drop off like the Atlantic, at most maybe a foot or two. There is a nice boardwalk and stairs over the dunes. If the surf isn't kicking up then boogie boards should be fine.

I thought WS was managed by Troon and WC was managed by Noble House. :dunno:
