Good local bank, in Santa Rosa Beach?

All, I'm doing it--moving to Santa Rosa Beach (CR 393, between 98 and 30A).....

I'm looking for a good (stable) local bank, mostly for savings and checking accounts. Would not be using this bank for loans, financial planning, portfolio management, etc, etc.

Preference (natch.....) is one without fees, or minimal fees (especially for checking and ATM transactions).

Any recommendations? Anyone you'd recommend I avoid? Thanks!

No fees for accounts, an excellent ATM network, and free bill pay software as long as you do something like 5 transactions a month. They've got more than a billion dollars in assets and get the highest possible ratings for financial soundness from financial regulators. And I know you said you don't need loans, but they've got an excellent 'no closing costs' HELOC at prime rate.

Beachmouse..... thanks, and I do qualify for the Eglin FCU (retired USAF Colonel, here). Unfortunately it looks like their closest office to me is in Destin (Main St).

I'll probably use Eglin for some of my retirement accounts, but Trustmark seems good for me--in terms of local "drop by" counter service.
