Treadmills are better thanexercise bikes, walking on atreadmill burns more calories.2-3 hours are too much.
Losing too much weightespecially if done too fast willmake your face look haggard andu'll look older than u really are.Work on the treadmill for onehour max everyday or 6 days aweek. Moreover, consume notless than 1100kcal per day (uwill regain the weight if u do,trust me, I've tried it). Drink lotswater (8 glasses atleast)throughout the day, and drinkinggreen tea after your meals worksgreat in keeping cravings away,it is also full of antioxidants andincreases metabolism so that urbody burns fat faster and moreefficiently. Furthermore, try toeat 3 pieces of fruit a day.

:welcome: steven. How come no mention of strength training? Stronger muscles burn more calories, period. 2-3 days of lifting a week in conjunction with cardio is more efficient than long treadmill workouts 6 days/week.

And if you keep up with the weights, once you get to your goal weight, you can eat a pretty good amount & still maintain! :D

Amen to that. Once you reach your target it is easier to remain there with a routine. Mix weight training with cardio and you will be amazed at what it will do for you.

Maybe.

I weighed 250 lbs (+) in Oct '03

Started walking 5 to 10 miles per day and cut down
calories to 600/ day.

In Aug. '04 I was at 140 lbs. Everyone thought I had aids.

Later took up running instead of walking but then had
knee problems while preparing for a marathon (did not
run the marathon) so took up cycling. Have pedaled over
1200 miles since Sept. 1 '07

At about 165 now, which is not a bad level to be at,
but would prefer to be @ 155.

140 was just too low.

Was ugly after losing the weight but was ugly before as well.

Low calories did not bother me but might bother someone else.

I don't have enough money to join a gym so, I am lookingfor some type of workout to do at home. I have dumbbellsand a balance ball.Any idea would be great! Thank you.
Strength training doesn't require traditional weight lifting. There are loads of strength training excercises you can do without using a single weight, other than your own body. If you don't feel comfortable learning them on your own, I'd recommend going down to Grayton Fitness and sign up for a few strength training sessons with Paul. Watching him train most of his clients, I notice that they rarely use weights, but just looking at those exercises, I know they are getting a tough workout. You will not have to pay for a membership and will learn many good exercises to take home with you.

Is this a good diet and workout plan to lose weight and inches fast?

I'm trying to lose 20-30 pounds even though thankfully I'm not overweight. I'm normal, but my goal is either a "Supermodel Shape"/"Slim & Slender with a 6-pack!" My cousin lost 20-30 lb. just by eating salad and exercising for two weeks and that's what I'm trying too.
Morning:
"Nutty Nuggets" wheat & barley cereal with non-fat milk
1 cup of Citrucel (orange powder that you mix with water that helps with irregularity)
2 water bottles
Afternoon:
homemade salad that contains: lettuce, red & green cabbage strips, almond slices, baby tomatoes, apple bits, snap peas, carrot strips, olives, green grapes
*I change a few of the ingredients everyday to change the flavor.
1 cup of Citrucel
2 water bottles
When I get hungry (before 7 P.M.)
1 cup of strawberry JELL-O
5 almonds
1 water bottle
I workout everyday for 2 hours:
35 min. of Billy's Bootcamp: AB BOOTCAMP
20 min. of Turbo Jam: AB JAM
20 min. of Winsor Pilates: Max. Burn Basics
45 min. of Windsor Pilate's: Fat-Burning
I don't eat past 7 PM!

I don't think it's a healthy diet to lose weight (just cut out processed foods, alcohol, and reduce portion sizes instead), but 2 hours of working out each day ought to do the trick.
