If you notice the entire thread doesn't have any mugshots. It simply has a link to the Walton county websites which do have the mugshots.

Guess what, when you get arrested you have broken the law, the shame is on the law breaker and not the poster.

We live in a small town. I always say that you can't fart in this town without everyone smelling it. We get a lot of gossip from the local newspaper. But they don't report on "certain people" in this town who get arrested. But there is a free local newspaper that gets mailed to everyone in the county and has mug shots of everyone who has been arrested. The photo of colleague of mine whom I really like got in the free paper (family violence), but it wasn't put in the other newspaper that spares certain people from embarrassment. That professor was fired BTW.

Years ago a bunch of very prominent people in town were caught with illegal drugs. That didn't get put in the paper.

So I am accustomed to seeing photos of everyone in this county who is arrested.

Nope, just thought Walton was a little behind the times since every single other city/county in Florida has mug shots online.

I am interested in the motives. Is this a scarlet-letter public service attempt? Or is it intended to fill a niche for crime hobbyists? Or just plain old "look at someone worse off than me" type mentality?
