We went to the new Graffiti in Carillon this past Saturday night, and it was such a wonderful meal! This is not a fancy restaurant review, and I hope PV will chime in and give us the particulars of our food, because I didn't take notes---
Shawn, Jeremy, Joe, and our own POTATOVIXEN really threw down for amazing food and service. We had a party of 6, and in typical fashion with this particular group, the Grafitti peeps had to fight to be heard, but they persevered and kept us "on task"!
I had wine, but the margaritas and a fancy martini came to the table, and were reported to be good. The margarita drinker had 3 of them, so I think they passed the taste test, then the martini drinker switched to margaritas, probably because the glass was larger. Thankfully, I stuck with wine.
We ordered the fried green tomato with crawfish appetizer and passed it around. The sauce was one of those yummy ones that everyone starts sliding the bread around and sopping it up until all the plates are wiped clean. We pretty much licked up every drop of that sauce.
We were split 50/50 on our dinner selection- half of us had the grouper (with a hazelnut butter) and the other half had the shrimp/scallops/grits dish. I don't think any plates went back to the kitchen with food on them!
Oh PV- the creme brulees were so fantastic- classic and chocolate, right? The perfect ending with one of my absolute favorite desserts.
The restaurant itself is very bright and vibrant- lots of artwork. Both Gaffreys are represented on the walls.
There is an enclosed porch area that overlooks the lake in Carillon- the view is pretty.
Go see PV and crew soon! We can't wait to return!
