Was there in June, had resverations at Bud and Alleys, but cancelled it after talking with a couple that stayed in the condo next to us about how good Great Southern was. Food was very good. Service on that night was also great. The owner was there and we picked up a copy of his cookbook, he came over and signed it. Nice guy.

Grits YA YA was really good. We had Crab Cakes and Fried Green Tomatoes to start it off, mmmmmmmmmm.

I will go back for sure when I am down there in June.

This must be the grits my kids told me about, with Gouda, right? They said they were the most expensive grits they ever ate but that they were worth it. I think shizzle bedizzle may be the word they used. So, as long as they're worth it! Oh BTW, :welcome: JaxGirl!!!

Sounds like it has turned out to be a great place. I knew it had potential! Wonder why Seaside doesn't have it on their website?? We will have to check it out again when we're down there in June! Thanks for all the info.

Ate there on Sunday for lunch, which is very affordable. Food and service was great, and definitely don't miss the gouda grits.

I give Great Southern high marks; the food's great and everyone I have encountered from the management to the employees are great; very friendly. I would definitely go. Dave
