Welcome, Chris! :welcome:

Suggestion: add the % chance of rain for each day to the 7-day forecast graphic. It's an obvious factor some of us local business owners need to know, as some of us have to plan adding more staff on the rainy days...

Rumor has it Charlie Hilton "influenced" WJHG to leave perecnt chance of rain off all these years so touristas wouldn't cut short their vacations due to rain expected at his Holiday Inn on PCB...

Ah yes... Chan's... I have yet to go, but my folks have gone quite a few times...

Lets hope it does well there... 15th time is the charm! When is doubt... put some booze in there! I need to give it a try.

Fire... one of my favs... free champagne... how can you go wrong?!?!? Plus, everyone that works there is really nice. We did a nice story on them on the news before the Super Bowl about their story and how most of them came from N.O. after Katrina.

As for rain chances... I am unaware of any reason why we do not do it other than our preference. Rain chances... I do not like them because they can be misleading. Technically... a 40% chance of rain means that if you were to dupilcate a day 10x it would rain 4 of 10 days at least .01" at the airport gauge location. It has nothing to do with coverage of rainfall or amount of rainfall.

My other concern with adding rain chances is that they will be another # you have to look at in an already cluttered 7day.

I prefer to describe the rain chances... for this Sunday I mentioned the chance of rain in my 7day, but also said that it was a very small chance and I was not terribly concerned about it at this point.

I am completely open though to changes if everyone wants the rain chances.

Anyway... no more stalking folks... just say hello when you see me! ;-)

I ALWAYS go to Channel 7 for my news and weather. You have a great group to work with and you seem to fit right it. I love all the new weather guys. Thanks for coming our way and welcome to the area. Please try to keep the hurricanes away this year.

How about a surf report? No one does one anymore. Years ago it was the only way we would know if swell was on the way. :D

I watch every night and they report both bays and the gulf. Not a day goes by I don't know if there's a small craft advisory or what the wave height will be. ;-)

They use to have inshore reports with a true wave "forecast". The report was an actual surf forecast not a small craft advisory. It may just be too difficult to actually do these days. I have to follow 3-4 different web sites to actually get a good read on where to go when it gets up. I find just going to Nosara, CR so much easier.

 Ya'll just showed neat moonset over gulf, beach and coastal dune lake picture here in SoWal. Had your morning show on with Paris Janos (neat guy) and looked up from posting and there it was. Weatherman Jim was on duty.
