I agree. If you're staying at The Villages of South Walton in June-July or spring break, go east on 98 to Publix or Winn-Dixie in PCB to avoid the 395/30A intersection. We plan to start going there until the tourist season is over. Then we'll go back to the Publix on 395.

Heck, in the off-season you could bowl on 30A.

The off-season in South Walton is just awful. You wouldn't want to be there then.;-)

EDIT:
Steamed shrimp at Goatfeathers.
Subs at Publix.
Muffins at Modica.

They do make really good subs, I think they steam shrimp for you but I've not tried that at Publix, we get our steamed shrimp at Goatfeathers seafood market when you can get them hot or order ahead for them chilled and let them know if you want seasoning or how much and they have fantastic remoulade and my friend love their tartar sauce. The desserts at Modica market are delicious! Publix has pretty good key lime pie, more on the sweet and less on the tart side but a very nice texture. They have cuban bread which is similar but better than french bread imo and I never see that in Texas. Also, Publix has these french rolls for burger rolls that are off the chain good! I brough home a 4pack, they make great sandwiches or burger buns or cheese toast!

I also buy and bring home Yeungling beer and my hubby loves Bunny brand bread-it's not better than Mrs. Bairds to me. At the liquor store next to Publix on 395 they have Whiskey Willy's bloody mary mix that is the best in the world to my mom, I brought home a case for her!

If you see Cobia, Triggerfish or Amgerjack on menus eat it and eat it grilled or blackened, it's so great and I rarely ever see these fish on Texas menus; even in Houston/Galveston. I never order mahi or talapia down there because they are on Texas menus all of the time!

Ya'll have fun and happy eating!
