Re: Ground Hog Day: The Movie....

Funny that a movie is the one thing that really inspired me and made me realize the importance of living everyday, helping as many people as I go along. Most of the time, a schedule gets in the way of life. As Bill Murray shows in the movie, maybe helping someone with a flat tire on the side of the road on your way to your next event is your next event in life. We are really on God's schedule, but our Ego gets in the way and causes us to forget this sometimes.
.

well said, and quite true.

This movie was it for me. I began taking up any and every hobby, as well as meeting everyone I can. I learned to not be afraid to ask a person's name whom I do not know. Life is way too short and there is too much to discover to sit idle and let it pass. I don't know who wrote that movie, but they won me over for life.
:clap_1: very profound SJ..now I really am going to watch it...#1 on the list!!(see my new thread) :D

Watching Phil Connors now in his epic struggle. Sonny and Cher just woke him up.

Groundhog Day (1993)

Somebody asked me today, "Phil, if you could be anywhere in the world, where would you like to be?" And I said to him, "Prob'ly right here - Elko, Nevada, our nation's high at 79 today." Out in California, they're gonna have some warm weather tomorrow, gang wars, and some *very* overpriced real estate. Up in the Pacific Northwest, as you can see, they're gonna have some very, very tall trees.

Note:
The weatherman and the groundhog are both named Phil, which is kind of significant. You could say that Phil the weatherman wakes up to Feb 2 every day until he fails to see his own shadow (ego).

The co-writer, director, and producer is the massively talented Harold Ramis, Second City TV alum and writer of Animal House, Meatballs, Ghostbusters, Caddyshack, Stripes, Analyze This, etc. He acted in many movies also, you will probably remember him as Murray's sidekick in Stripes. He also was the neurologist in Groundhog day.

Watched again last night for the 100th time. My mother-in-law did not understand the premise - she asked why we kept rewinding to the same scene over and over.
