I had to start wearing reading glasses a few years ago, and at first I didn't like it. now I love them. it took a while to get used to always having them in my purse or nearby so I could actually use them when needed. I've got a pair of bifocals (the kind you can't tell are bi) used for reading, and driving at night (I'm slightly nearsighted - and the only time I use them for seeing far away is night driving - and it really makes a difference). I also have several regular reading glasses (from the drugstore) placed throughout the house.

who cares if you wear glasses? I think folks look just fine with them.

I think everyone else looks darling in them.

Well, at 52 but with good sight, I am sort of in the middle. When young I was always 20-20. But time marches on.
I am blind at night. I detest driving after dark, but willingly do it with glasses.
That same doctor removed a horrible cyst from my eyes years ago. You do what you have to do. I guess you have to decide what's worth it.
My opthomologist in Denver said that he regularly gives people lasik surgery so they can see as well as I now do in daytime. I am never going to get cut and/or go under anaesthesia to look younger, but other stuff is acceptable.
If it comes to being blurry or wearing glasses, I'll take the spectacles :)

Oh, the howah. I had to get glasses today. I've never worn them before. My hub has been saying that, since I turned the big 4-0 that I would need them, but I scoffed. Glasses? Never! (doing my best Lurch imitation.. ohhhhhhhhhhhh...) So, he was right. Of course, I'm not telling him that I am admitting he was right. That would be just too much for one day.

Congrats...seeing is believing!!! I just got some new specs on Wednesday...Molly chewed my other ones and I had a new prescription. I think I am making no sense.

I know what you mean. I'm too vain to wear them as much as I should. Tried contacts but they needed to put only one prescription one so I could still see close up and that was really screwy. Messed up my close vision.

I don't think I'll ever do the surgery. My ex had it done and he went blind for a couple of days right after and they had to go in and redo. Too scary for me
