HAPPY BIRTHDAY DOUG! Leo the Lion (Doug) had his birthday today and thought we all forgot. But Kalie and I surprised him at the Cafe with a private dining experience.....that he didn't have to cook!!!
We reserved the little dining room at the cafe and everyone pitched in and believe it or not the three of us had a wonderful dinner at D&K's. Do you know how hard that is for us.
Only once in a blue moon.Chef John, Robert and Jamie handled everything perfectly in the kitchen. Chef John cooked it all. Kalie and I brought Doug a dress shirt and shorts. We were waiting him at the table. Our server was Chris....but everyone came in and waited on us hand and foot.
We ordered everything......and I am so stuffed and ready for bed. We went through bread and muffins, champagne, appetizers X 5, raspberry sorbet, entrees, and 3 desserts. We snuck in a piece of Carrot Cake (Doug's favorite) with candles and sparklers that Chris put together.
He opened his cards and presents and was so happy. What a wonderful evening.
Oh yea, Kalie had sparkling grape juice!!!!;-)
