In the summer of 1956, photographer Alfred Wertheimer gained fly-on-the-wall access to Elvis Presley just before the musician became a superstar. The images Wertheimer captured are part of a new exhibition, “Elvis at 21,” opening on January 8 at the Grammy Museum, in Los Angeles. Here are some of our favorites.
