Sueshore and I are very pleased to announce that our ever-loving, ever-supporting, and ever-patient (they are, after all, SoWal husbands, have a birthday today!
Merman turns the big 5-OH today and Mr. Kitty is only a wee bit further onto his fifties.
This is what I did for Merman's presents. I gave him 5, one for each decade.
1-10 years: Licorice all-sorts, for when his life was young and full of all-sorts of adventures
10-20 years: A polartek jacket, for the years when he was still wrapped in the soft cocoon of family life, but venturing forth to unchartered terrain (college) and needed some protection and warmth
20-30 years: A diver's watch (thank you SJ and Sueshore for the Timex recco!) for the adventurous years where he dived into the wide wide waters of this world
30-40 years: Sunglasses, because those were (and still are) the good years where the sun shone brightly upon him
40-50 years: A box of Godiva, because he deserves the richness of all life offers
Last present, the big one, is a collage mirror I made with momentos of his life--his college hallmark, pictures of all his family, logo from his company, addresses from homes we've lived in, etc. It's very personal.
I know this is all Super Corney (way corney) but it is the big Oh birthday and I couldn't resist.
What have all you done on big Oh birthdays????
