My dad has already complained about his unofficial gift--it pooped in his shower. I think he actually loves his kitties, though. (And we are getting him a real gift, too.)

I hope that all of you either have a dad as great as mine, know a dad as great as mine, or are a dad as great as mine. A good father is a rare and wonderful gift, and I'm blessed to have one.

That's awesome.

I searched and searched this week for the perfect gift. I thought I'd never find it. My dad is so hard to buy for as are most of our dads. Last summer he bought a zero turn John Deer tractor/lawn mower thing that he just loves and is so proud of. He built a garage just for it! Today Sam and I were at the mall and we were in JCPenney looking for something. I turned around and there was a whole line of John Deere clothing! I bought him a golf shirt and a t-shirt that says " The grass is always greener on my side". He always took pride in his lawn and garden so this is perfect. I am so happy. And relieved. :D

The kids and I got Mr OL a pair of RayBan sunglasses that he had his eye on but didn't want to spend that much.

My step-dad will get some stamps that we bought for him when we were in DC at the postal museum. He's a serious philatelic.:D

Tomorrow will be a bit of a rush to get around town to see everyone but it should be funn. We're going downtown to German Village for dinner. Another reason why I worked out extra hard today.

Dadisms On Life

  • Who said life was supposed to be fair?
  • Always say please and thank you. That way, you get more.
  • If you forget, you'll be grounded till the end of the world.
  • Shake it off. It's only pain.
  • A little pain never hurt anybody.
  • Don't take yourself so seriously, take what you do seriously!
  • You're always a winner if you lose with a smile.
  • Four things come not back: time past, the spoken word, the sped arrow and a missed opportunity.
  • Life is a journey and you've just reached one of many speed bumps to come.
  • If you want to do something, do it because you want to. Don't do it because someone else did.
  • As long as you tried your hardest, that's all that matters.
  • If ifs and buts were candy and nuts then we'd all have a merry Christmas.
  • Don't believe anything you hear and only half of what you see.
  • If you're gonna be dumb, you've gotta be tough.
  • Worrying about things you can't change is like a rocking chair... it gives you something to do, but it doesn't get you anywhere.
  • It's hard to be good, and easy to be bad.
  • Don't tell on anybody unless you tell on yourself first.
  • The first liar don't stand a chance.
  • Laugh at yourself first, you'll take the bite out of others doing so for you.

To all you wonderful daddies out there.

Happy Father's Day

A Dad is a person
who is loving and kind,
And often he knows
what you have on your mind.
He's someone who listens,
suggests, and defends.
A dad can be one
of your very best friends!
He's proud of your triumphs,
but when things go wrong,
A dad can be patient
and helpful and strong
In all that you do,
a dad's love plays a part.
There's always a place for him
deep in your heart.
And each year that passes,
you're even more glad,
More grateful and proud
just to call him your dad!
Thank you, Dad...
for listening and caring,
for giving and sharing,
but, especially, for just being you!
Happy Father's Day

I have both my kids (one three, one eight months) by myself while my wife is driving back from her high school reunion. Chaos!

I thought dads were supposed to get to take it easy on father's day. Not happening here. :bang:

Fathers Day

Happy Fathers Day and a great big thank you to the mothers that made this possible. For without them I don't think there would be many fathers.

That's the way it is when your kids are young. Just try to enjoy it.

No rest for Mr OL either...next stop....step father's house. Dad done...he loved his John Deere shirts.
