Does anyone remember if this episode was based on an actual promotion by a radio station? I believe it was.

I think the whole thing of pardoning a turkey is completely ridiculous. I hope Obama drops this annual tradition.

What does it accomplish, one turkey lives whiles thousands of others are slaughtered for Thanksgiving meals across the country.

While the President will do this with less gore and actually remove the pardoned Turkey from the slaughter area, does that really change anything. Turkeys will still be slaughtered by thousands for Thanksgiving.

You may feel differently if you were the one turkey that was pardoned.

I like to entertain myself by considering that Sarah Palin doing an interview standing in front of a turkey being slaughtered could be a premeditated act of brilliance rather an act of ignorance or stupidity...

A) Let's assume she wants to remain in the news and talked about- this'll do it
B) Let's assume she wants Joe Sixpack to continue to relate to her ("See, she's one of us")- this'll do it
C) Let's assume she wants to turn off leftys so that they'll talk about what horrible thing Sarah Palin did which will score further points with Joe Sixpack- this'll do it

What, is everyone just realizing that real turkeys are killed, oops! Slaughtered every year so you can put that big bird on the table every thanksgiving? Come on now. :roll:

I'm just glad I don't have to try to catch one, put it's head on a stump and swing an ax, before boiling and plucking feathers just so I can have one for one day out of the year.
