The Truth About Health Insurance Premiums | FactCheck.org
mproved benefits required by the new law are responsible for a relatively small portion of the increases. Furthermore, the increases apply mostly to those buying policies individually, not the majority who get private insurance through employers. Those with employer-provided plans won?t see as much of an increase in premiums, since many of their policies already include the required benefits, a spokesman for an insurance trade association told us.

I think this is a good source for solid information about health care costs. Much of the primary sourcing is from the insurance industry and associations...

Right here!
Up, up and up! My employer had to increase our coverage signifigantly, adding features I will never make use of. I won't experience the added costs directly, but I will experience them in round about ways. All of that money will go to... the insurance company's bottom line.

Exactly what features did they have to add?

The article/Sowallers who used to write policies basically said the reason costs were going up was the same as always - rising medical costs and profit. Yes, a fraction of that rise is from actual changes due to the law - but the vast majority is the same old sheet.

My premiums went up 15-25% a year before Obamacare even existed as a concept, so don't tell me that this year's increases are a direct result of it.

correction ...and that money, starting in January, will be redistributed to people who do not enjoy the level of care I have earned.

The whole ObamabCare thing was more about progressive taxation than anything else.

Everybody's premiums go up every year. Instead of being mad at the insurance companies about it, Obama can be the bad guy! But it seems that at least with this year's premium increases, people get increased benefits too, when before you just received the lousy increase and no new benefits, or even a decrease in benefits!

Please explain how a particular level of care is earned.
If you don't know, I have a cancer patient who could readily tell you. Her oncologist, by the way, says that Obamacare will destroy our present patient care system. You know damn well what 30ashopper is talking about and so do I, even if you don't agree with the premise.

mr entitlement speaks
My wife says to tell you she earned hers on her own and she is proud of the fact. She'll be glad to supply you details as to how she earned them if you want them. Mr entitlement speaks once again but the difference is I have earned mine, now tell us of your military experience and how you earned yours. Yes, I remember the fact that you served.
