Happy people check out the blog Minnie started re: Minnie and Kat's adventure to Disney.

Both Minnie and I have received many request for a trip report of our adventure from Memphis to Santa Rosa Beach to Disney World and back! There were so many things that we did and attempted to do that Minnie decided to do a blog instead of a post.

We had the best time and would love to share it.....pictures will be added and even more in our own album on Minnie's profile page. So we invite you to share just a sampling of our wonderful time!!!

Thank you so much Minnie for an adventure of fun, food, fireworks and fairy tales.

:love::love::love:

This is our first road trip together, but this is just the beginning, we have way too much fun traveling together to stop now. :clap:

although I've been to Orlando many times, we never went to disney until just last fall. loved it. but once is all I ever need. Still, I appreciate those who are really into it - I can understand it now that I've been. heck, we have grown friends with NO children who like to take themselves to disney whenever possible.

I was really impressed with the cleanliness of the parks, the preservation of the natural beauty all around the parks, and the progressive planning and development obviously done by Disney over the years. I wasn't really expecting any of this in such a massive tourist resort. I was very pleasantly surprised!

it is a magical place. now off to minnie's blog... wait. how do you get there from here? edit... found it!

Definitely going to Disney World is not for everyone, we took my brother once and that was enough for him. For us it is more about many different things that drew us back year after year.

First it was about going somewhere to take our 2 year old daughter after our son died at birth. Then it became a family ritual to celebrate the memory of our son. My husband and daughter are really into theme park rides. They could ride them over and over again.

I go for the non theme park things. The cleaniness of the parks and grounds, the attention to detail, having leisurely lunches with friends, going to the spa, visiting area attractions not Disney. In going to Orlando yearly, we literally have visited every area of Florida all the way to the Keys. Many Floridians have not done that. We have seen and visited everything on the East coast all the way to the Keys, back to the Everglades and up the West coast to Tampa and back over to Orlando. We would go to Disney for about 5 days and then spend another 5 days seeing the rest of Florida.

When my husband and I go without child and we have done this several times, we go to the places that appeal to us like Epcot, good meals, shopping and visits with friends. Our local friends all live on beautiful lakes and on weekends we boat with them.

Because we go each year, we don't have a schedule, we don't set an alarm clock and we never go to a park for more than a few hours. Some days we don't even leave the resort, staying in a deluxe 2 bedroom condo, makes that so much easier to do that a standard hotel room.

We bike, we golf, we ride horses, we boat and we fish. They have some huge bass in the Disney water ways. We take the behind the scenes tours, that show the many facets of Disney World. There is a train tour, a garden tour at Epcot, you can swim in the tanks at the Living Seas with the dolphins, you can do an environmental tour, and visit their alligator preserve where they relocate alligators that make it into areas visited by humans. Very little of the 27,000 acres that is Disney World is actually developed.

And each year we go to Orlando we come to SoWal going and coming for a few days and that is always a great reason to take a trip.
