 Beach Runner!!!

Speed was never much my thing--I had a nice little 225 Slant 6, maybe 100 HP? It would spin out if I went too fast (ended up backwards on the highway twice in it!) But I found other ways to be stupid. It's amazing the things we did in cars when we were 16 and immortal. Jeez, once or twice when I was that age I drove on the wrong side of the road, with my lights out, around the windy blind curves around Chastain Park in Atl. Just to tempt fate. Should have been grounded for life! Luckily, I was much less crazy by 17.

"Gimme five, we're still alive!"
You're right. It is scary what kids do at that age.

When I was that age, I used to get our Diesel Rabbit going at top flat-land speed in third gear of 5about 39 mph and pull up the emergency brake. Oh, fun. It was also fun to perform donuts in reverse with the front wheel drive.

... and those are the mild stories.

Funny you should say that. My brother and I used to do the exact same thing. My dad bought us a piece of crap chevette to play around with and that sucker would spin when you jerk up the brake. Especially in the rain. Awesome memories. :clap_1:

My friend had a Chevette and he taught me the trick. We called it the Power Slide. It did work best in the rain, but once, that landed me in a 15 foot deep ditch. The only damage to the Rabbit was a little ding under the front bumper. I was lucky.
