We have two choices....
  • Elect more Democrats to Congress
  • Take down the level of partisan rhetoric and work with Republicans to take care of the people's business
[/quote]

I'll hope and pray for choice #2. We'll see.

My point is that while the President may sit in the highest seat, the Congress runs the Gov't.

righto. and most people are not willing to change anything except the current president/administration. you are right about that!

obama fills me with hope that change is needed at such a deep level and that he understands this and can set the tone and provide the leadership to do this. people will not be pleased with this though. especially congress. does that mean we should not try? it should be about dems and reps and others doing the work - making sacrifice - rising above their usual process of BS partisan crap - doing the work. real work.

none of the other candidates get this. NONE. its the kind of thinking that threatens the status quo, and that gets one killed. I'm sorry to say.

Bob Dole confronts Clinton after a battery of lies is launched against Dole during campaign 1996. Google it. Believe what you will, but team Clinton has always been about winning by any means required, be it the destruction of sexually harassed females or wounded WWII vets. That is the record...add an otherwise honorable guy from Illinois to the list of Clinton roadkill.

we can state all kinds of grotesque things "on the record" all day long on either side. that is not the point. my point is this: then the clinton's did a great campaign job - IMO - and I'm so glad they got into office. when you go up against republican machine (status quo to the extreme), you better get ready to use all your guns. I believe Bill had all the right ideas and believed in real change - republicans were not going to ever allow him to do what he needed to do. hence an impeachment and distraction from the real work for congress and all of america. very unfortunate, but that's another story.

But, seeing them now - compared to an honorable anti-status quo man who is so different from anyone running that we've ever seen - the contrast is dazzling, and the desperation of the clintons is rising. I think the image they are projecting is very different during this campaign. it comes down to image, after all.

I've never seen a truly honorable man run - this is my first time to see it in my life. I didn't think this was a possibility in politics, in america. maybe that is the difference in what I am seeing. such a contrast with all the other candidates. they look like status quo soldiers.

I don't think anyone, in the near future, will be able to break down partisan walls in Washington. Go ahead and hope, it might work. As the guy in Dirty Santa says, "wish in one hand and sh-t in the other and see which fills up first."

The only way we will unite in the US is for some major tragedy to occur, and wake up the zombies from their journey on cruise control.

yeah, I think the non-negative campaign stuff went out the window a while ago.

So, I wonder if Mrs. Clinton is losing any fair weather supporters over her recent tactics?

I've seen almost nothing compared to what you have seen, punzy. and I am vomiting down here in Florida every time I see Hillary or Bill. and when they open their mouths to speak its more than I can bear.

its strange, but I feel really betrayed by them both. I liked them for so long, and admired them both. now, I am sickened. no wonder SJ said that Hillary was repulsive. I thought he was going a tad overboard. he was right, dammit.

What's repulsive to me is finding quotes above in posts 334, 335 and 336 where I find quotes in my name quoting something I never posted, even saying Hillary is disgusting. How'd that happen, kurt? How can someone qote me over several times above on something I never said. Please check it out daddy-o. I never said Hillary was digusting.

Hillary's a winner in my opinion, and by far the best candidate. I guess we'll just have to find out but in the meantime I don't know how someone totally manipulated my thread by faking my quotes above. That is very dishonest and frankly rather dirty.

Ya'll crack me up acting like her campaigning is mso dirty. She is doing nothing different than any male candidates have done. Nothing new it's just woman doing it now and some of you can't take it!

Rapunzel is now saying "Hillary is disgusting." in post 334 but using my name above her quote , so everybody else that quotes her ugly statement looks like they are quoting me. That's dirty playing on this thread Rapunzel. Funny you were just whining about Hillary cheating after winning one primary and look at yourself. Don't put my name on your nasty posts. I could play that game too rapunzel but I'm not that dirty!

FYI, Toosie and John R, why did you both quote me falsely. :dunno: I think it was accidentally because Rapunzel(very sneaky and flat out rude and cheating) put my name before her ugly, hateful words so it would look like I said that. I didn't say what you both quoted above, Rapunzel did. Her and Skunky have a hard on for Hillary that just won't quit as witnessed by her falsely quoting me. Please fix these errors above Daddy-o. Raspunzel's feelings don't resemble mine. I don't have that much hate in my little finger.:wave:

The difference between then and now is the person running. Bill plays dirty poliTRICKS just like everyone else, but he smiles while doing so. Hillary, on the other hand, yells while she is doing it. The anger shows through. Bill never showed that anger.

As for Bill having all the right ideas, no one has yet explained to me why we all yell at Bush for going into Iraq, but no one said a thing when Clinton targeted Iraq on bombing missions, because of their future potential threat to the US. I am wondering if his Clinton's battles in Iraq were part of his "right ideas." :dunno:

Its easy to do, and can sometimes be a legitimate mistake. I am quoting you right now, intentionally changing your quote by replying within the quote html language. See how easy that is?

Kristi, you've been on this Board long enough to know that quoting errors frequently happen even the lounge. To insinuate they were done intentionally is politically pandering in itself and accomplishes nothing.
