Absolutely. Lets not forget egocentric as well. Question is, who can set theirs aside long enough to allow the voice of the masses to be heard?

:clap_1: Grayt question, TNJed! In the case of the Walton County BCC it was the 2 women commissioners, Sara Commander and Cindy Meadows, at the meeting April 10, who were witnessed using thier elected power to prevent further over development on 30A. I'd be willing to bet those women have to resist a lot of temptations most likely being offered by big developers. Just guessing. WAY TO GO, GULLS!!!!! KEEPIN' IT REAL FOR THOSE WHO ELECTED YOU & TRYIN' TO PROTECT MAMA NATURE THRU OUT SOWAL!!!!!!   THANK YOU, CINDY & SARA!!!

Seacrestkristi, you seem to be implying that Hillary will be above politricks simply because she is a female. Not sure what your title means, "'Bout Time." It could be taken as, it is about time that a female ran for President, but that wouldn't make sense, since she is not the first.

Hillary Clinton has the intellect, but not the street smarts to be President. She has inverse charisma, as she projects all the warmth of that cold-blooded algebra teacher you had in high school. At this late date, she goes into vapor lock at the mention of her Iraq war vote, and this is a major sign of coping skills that are missing. I believe the only Republican candidate she can prevail over is McCain, because of his idiotic war stance.

I'm going to continue my comment from the Naturewalk thread, since it more appropriate to post Hillary-related comments on this thread.

Yes, women banding together got us the right to vote. However, I fail to see the connection of voting for Hillary because she is female, or giving any elected official applause because of their sex, or race too for that manner. Suffragists worked hard to get my right to vote- but that is as far as it goes. If Hillary is not elected, I doubt I will feel like I was denied a right of some sort, and if I don't support every female candidate that comes my way, I don't think anyone's rights are going to be challenged.

The suffragists did not say "Now go forth and vote for every female candidate that runs, no matter if they are good or bad!" I do not plan on supporting Hillary for several reasons, and that certainly does not mean that I am against women's rights. Maybe someday there will be a female presidential candidate that I will support.

Seacrestkristi, you are very passionate about your cause, and that is admirable. But all women aren't behind Hillary, and I am not going to be a rah rah go girl cheeleader on this one.

as I've stated before, I admire hillary's work, but no thank you on the presidency. let's all hope we get to vote on someone with fresh perspective, no personal baggage, brains, and a real desire to move our country forward domestically and globally and positively. let's all hope the best candidate wins, without regard to sex or race.

SJ, jdarg, I'm not asking ya'll to vote for the lady. I'm just asking that people don't bash the woman like what happened in the Naturewalk thread. I wasn't the one to bring her up. I was just tryin' to defend the woman and then immediately moved it to here myself, didn't I? Why did she get brought in to the Naturewalk thread in a negative light in the first place? One had really nothing to do with the other, did it? Then it kinda got all  with dissin' me. I'm not bashin' ya'll Obama or our prez out of respect for them and others on this board or elsewhere.
You're right, I do feel passionate. :dunno: I've never felt this way about politricks before. Maybe the war and all the dyin' like in the 60's and 70's, and now. Remember how it used to be on the news everynight?

Anyhow, when Bill was in office, that show Biography on E was on Hillary, and I remember thinkin' then that she should be the first woman president. It was just a gut feeling after seeing really what all she has accomplished in her professional career, and how hard she has really studied and worked towards it for decades. Also, her 'mom and wife' credentials count for me too. It's just a big job she has already. I could not imagine all that work, myself. Tryin' to resist envelopes all the time on top of all that.;-)

 Bob, thank you far at least admitting the woman has the intellect for the presidency. I was hopin' maybe her hubby could help out with the other, the street smart part, he's so good at. Also you're helping to unlock the mystery for me, as to maybe why I am so excited. I never had the cold lady algebra teacher. I had the best lil' fireball of a lady algebra teacher, Ms. Anderson, at Norcross High School. She was unique and made it all crystal clear, about 4'10" with a big, high voice that could overpower a class of soph/juniors in 2 seconds flat. In ALGII she made us all call out all the theories aloud as she did the long problem out on the board. She made it funn actually. It was exciting. :lolabove:

Anyhow, back to Hillary, just cuz she gets upset that people still focus on how she voted on the war issue, it's not like she's not coping, or has totally lost it. I think she's more than proven her coping skills. I find it amazing that she even has the courage to run, with as many people who harbour such, I feel unfounded, hate for her. You know that's their right but it's also mine to speak up even when it's not always the easy or popular opinion as long as I respect others opinions and feelings. I admit I could be wrong but I feel a lot, not all, but a lot, of the hate is just because she is a woman. It's almost a, "Who does she think she is?" feeling. :dunno: Maybe it's just me. I could be a little tainted being the mom and oldest sister of several grown women, aunt to lots of little women to be, and from a long line of strong women before me. ;-)

Oh Hail, this board is spozed to be sumpin' funn, and it is...:D I hope we can all still be message board buddies, SJ & jdarg. Ya'll do make me :funn: a lot!!!

I don't wanna :boxing: ! I'm a    ...
