That's a grayt shot, still pretty early with a long way to go. This one is March 2005.I have this photo from a June 2002 trip. Not a phone date buy from a photo envelope that I had dated. That trip we were at Commodores Retreat! Ellen

Wow, that is amazing you worked on this property. Due to the complexity of the project, I heard Mr. Hilton could not find a contractor to build it, so he started his own construction company to build it? Did you ever meet Mr. Hilton or his wife, Lela? What were they like? Did you get to go inside the house? The views from inside must be breathtaking. On another note, I found out this house is currently the subject of a lawsuit. If you go to BayCounty Clerk of Court and search under Julie Hilton (Mr. Hilton's daughter), you can read on the case. If I read the court documents correctly, Mr. Hilton left the house in a trust. Upon his passing, the trustees are Lela Hilton (who is over 90 years old) and their business associate (Mr. Cody Khan). Julie is suing to remove Cody Khan and her mother as trustees. She claims Mr. Khan took advantage of her mom and failed to charge rent on the property, and apply for homestead exemption, among other things. Btw, the property taxes alone on this estate are over $200K a year. Charlie Hilton must have been a very unique man and visionary to build an estate like this. Julie Hilton (the daughter) still manages a few hotels. I believe the Casa Loma is theirs along with a few others.I was going through some old folders today and came across my pictures of the construction of "The House". No one had to say Hilton House, they alredy knew where we worked and what we were building.
I spent 10 years building that house, Chips house (what people refer to as the guest house) the three tier infinty pool, the messaage/yoga deck out back, a full bar and a full kitchen on the patio.
I was there setting sprinklers in the sand, packing it down so equipment could start moving in, all the way until Mr. and Mrs. Hilton had well moved in and we were tweeking the heating and cooling systems, teaching the cleaners how to maintain the teak hand rails, and attemping to teach someone how the smart home touchpads in the walls could control everything in the house from any room. it hurts to hear that it's not being maintained and is sitting empty. So much work went into that beast, I hope to hear it's used to it's potential someday soon.
Any questions, ask away, I'll answer what I can recall.
Yep, purchased by "Templeton Development." The same company bought another house in the same neighborhood Paradise by the Sea. Rumor has it the 41 million dollar house might be torn down and new house built (allegedly).
Chip was Charlie Hilton's son. Unfortunately he passed away. Then Charlie passed away in 2018. Lela Hilton is in her 90s, their daughter is Julie Hilton and she has a daughter of own.I was going through some old folders today and came across my pictures of the construction of "The House".
