Hi,

I am wondering which of these 3 golf courses to play this week.

I have not played any before and would really appreciate some local knowledge.
Looking online the Nicklaus course at Bay Point looks challenging, I usually shoot about 82, so somewhere around a 10 hcp.

What do you think guys? :dunno:

cheers! :D

Nicklaus course the most challenging of those you cited. Hombre has 3 courses, the Bad and the Ugly are the best there. If you have the time go to Camp Creek GC it's worth the time.

I've played all 3, and also played Camp Creek. Out of the 3 you mentioned I liked the Bay Pointe nichlaus course (I'm about a 15 hcp). Camp Creek is nicer, but I think its about 40 bucks more, and I didn't think it was THAT much nicer. I paid/played it b/c I was staying closeby. Both of those courses have fantastic greens. My 3rd choice would be Hombre - it's fun, just not as nice as BP and CC.

BTW - if you play hombre, watch out for the snapping turtles on water holes. They're pretty dang aggressive.

Thanks for the Bay Point recommendation and the warning about the snapping turtles at Hombre!

I played the Nicklaus course at Bay Point today. The course is in excellent condition especially the greens which were first class. I play off 10 and I had a blast playing from the back tees, it's a challenge all day long. If you play after 3pm it's $49 which I think is a good deal.
I look forward to playing Camp Creek in the Fall when the green fees will probably be lower.
Hopefully I will get out to Santa Rosa or Hombre before I leave on Sunday :)
