Reminds me of one of our trips to Rome. The only people in first class on the TWA 747 were the actress Susan Sarandon, Big D, and me. Susan and I were at the same stage of pregnancy. The flight attendants offered us cocktails. Of course, she and I declined. Then they offered champagne and raw oysters for appetizers. She and I both rolled our eyes at the thought. Fiinally both of us covered our heads with blankets to ignore the flight attendants. You know ... the stages of pregnancy in which just hearing someone say the name of a food item makes you sick.
A pashmina would have been so perfect for that situation or for sitting next to someone coughing/sneezing on a commercial aircraft.
Pashminas are like duct tape!
I use them to keep warm, to ward off direct contact from my seat mate, draped over my head to block out the light from my seatmate who needs to read at 3 am, tied around my head like zorro to muffle the screaming kid, to hold the airline headphones on, to keep the "air" from going straight down my cleavage, you name it!

I thought of you today, Scooterbug (even tho I don't know you or even what you look like). But I was in the checkout line at a large international market this afternoon. It was mobbed with every nationality from Chicago's NW suburbs. And when I say mobbed, people are almost shoulder to shoulder while shopping. It's a bustling market filled with wonderful etnic food & produce. But while I was in line, on either side of me women were coughing and hacking. They sounded as if they were about to die. THERE WAS NOWHERE TO GO, NOTHING I COULD DO! I just said a little prayer. :roll: I so wished I had a pashmina covering my face. ugh!
Yes, I can see it , a whole fashion line devoted to sickness prevention...anyone for latex opera length gloves or Vicks vapo rub necless beads?
