Howdy-my wife has been having a rough time for about 4 years now ; progressivly. She has the onset of a hereditary rumtoid arthritis, for 5-6 years but managed to yoga/Dance & beach walk-swim even in pain.(Im a painter & know more about bones & muscles that most MD's- & can throw a deep tissue massage on thats better than-ugh;old poetry...)this(starting tis year is some relief to her-but not lasgting-as it would be for most people who'd stressed joints/tendons/muscle grps.

so W/ arthristis; she went to specialist for a troat problem & has acid reflux-this girl eats raw vegatables 4 breakfast! No Fast food-internet-commercial TV(which is bought & pd for anyway-in case you enjoy being lied to-)

No cell phones or road rage.-Some depression over the pain but her concern for others is quite Libran & sometimes to her own detriment.(I watch out for her)

Along with this she was diagnosed with IBS many years ago after rebecca was born(20 years)-
Her diet & lifestyle are pretty unreal-she wont take an asprin for a headache; though she's finally cried Uncle & motrins herself sometimes-shes to the point this year-08 where she is pretty dysfunctional/in chronic pain-(her words)

I've seen it at its worst & I've seen an MD precribe 10 loritabs-she ate 1/2 & then the other & was still in pain but able to do moderate things(stuff around house.etc)-its too painful to exercise & too painful sometimes for her to get a massage on most painful areas-
I could go all day-Our email is:
mark.arrt@earthlink.net......as I know someone will go somewhere else & she'll get ignored again.
so let us know

According to my reference book on complementary and alternative medicine, the Center for Evidence Based Medicine has evaluated CAM therapies for fibromyalgia and categorizes them into 3 categories:

CLEAR BENEFIT-Accupuncture.

SOME BENEFIT-Biofeedback, SAM-e, balneotherapy, hypnotherapy, meditation, massage.

NO DEFINITIVE BENEFIT-Bright light treatment, helium neon laser therapy:blink:, maltic acid, magnesium, rheumajecta and vasolastine injections, selenium, musical vibrations (60-300Hz), chiropractic.

The reference article can be found in The Journal of Family Practice 50:400-401, 2001.

On a related note, I recently read in The British Medical Journal that peppermint oil capsules (available at For the Health of It) showed benefit in IBS.

Good luck:wave:

Have to agree with Skunky .... think acupuncture is worth a try.
We were recently given the names of 2 different doctors who work with this type of treatment. Have never been to either one of them but they were recommended by the gal who is treating Smoothie with acupuncture.

Fibromyalgia Treatment not a "Band-aid"

First, I want you to know I completely empathize! I have been inflicted with this illness since my 20's -not completely sure when it starting rearing its ugly head- but by the age of 29 I was unable to work and within two years, completely bedridden for an additional three years! At 34, I thought my life was over-however, for those three years, I had lots of time to make promises to myself and the higher spirit-if I ever found relief, I would spend my life helping others to heal.
Miraculously, in June, I found Dr. Dantini (an FMS THRIVER) in Ormond Beach who, after managing his own illness for 20 years, developed a Protocol using antiviral therapy and latent food allergy testing/treatment to get to base of the problem. His Protocol and management program (there is no cure presently) gave me my life back.
In Nov, I opened a clinic here in Gulf Place and, along with Dr. Blount and other area physicians, I am teaching people inflicted with FMS to effectively manage their illness (which always includes a laundry list of diagnosis-part of the fun with this wild illness).
The results have been amazing and more fulfilling than I ever dreamed. My clients would attest to this. If your wife is ready to manage her illness (which takes dedication and support), I can teach her the tools to lead a real life again! PLEASE CONTACT the clinic 850-267-2126 (Ashley is my office manager and answers the phone). As my client said perfectly,"You have nothing to lose except a miserable life."
The sooner she receives treatment the less long term side effects to her body and internal organs-plus you get your wife/life back-BONUS!!!!!!

I hope to hear from you soon.

Sincerely, Diane Roll
P.S. Dr. Nancy Bellard is an mazing acupuncturist; unfortunately I have found that this treatment works best for relief, but not fundamental healing:wave:
