We're home from SoWal, and I am SO tired--our flight left FWB at 7 a.m.! I'd be a lot less tired if that Steeleing crowd hadn't kept us out so late! ;-)

Well, I would apologize, but we were happy to do it!! We've been talking ever since about what a great time we had. Can't wait to see you and Mr. Peapod (their name is definitely fitting) again and also meet the little peas. Glad you are home safe. Have a merry Christmas!!

Likewise--it was a blast! I'm just annoyed at you girls for making me so antsy for the summer now!

Oooh, Peapod! You paid a visit to the Pink House! Aren't they the best?

Tell us all about your trip, Peapod. Did you like staying in Rosemary Beach? What other restaurants did you eat at? Did you use the bikes? Answers!!

No, first we paid a visit to Amore, where Mr. Pod recognized Steeleing1 from Mama Steele's photo! He asked her her last name, and the rest is history! :D She made us a reservation at Borago for last night, we went and had dinner and after dinner spent a wonderful, long evening getting to know 3 of the 4 girls. I know I'm gushing, but it truly was such a great night.
We LOVED staying in RB--MP (Mr. Pod) now wants to book the same house for all of us in the summer. I loved just walking around and gawking, and I loved how easy the beach access is. But...as I was telling the Steeleings last night, we did find that we constantly drove in the direction of the other end of the beach to do everything. MP says he thinks it's just old habits, but I don't know. I feel like everything is in the other direction, honestly. But as far as being in RB, that was heaven.
Oh, gosh, I'm ashamed to admit we didn't use the bikes once...! :dunno: Actually, the weather was just so-so while we were there, couple of days with a lot of rain, for example. So, when it was nice--often early in the day--we took advantage of that time and just walked the beach and enjoyed not seeing another soul out there. That was great.
Let's see...I think I've mentioned most of our meals, but we did have a very disappointing lunch at the Market; it almost made me sad! And MP had never had dinner at B&A's before and wanted to try it. We had a great server (props to Lesley, she was great!), and some of the meal was really yummy, but MP thought for the money it just wasn't worth it. The numbers didn't match the experience, if you know what I mean. Amore's pizza was great--loved it there--and the meal at Borago was amazing. The people there--I will not blubber anymore about those aforementioned girls--were fantastic. Our server, Cara, was beyond terrific, and everyone I met associated with the restaurant was incredibly friendly and helpful.
Whew! That's quite a dispatch!

Yes, tell us the pros and cons of staying at RB. I'm seriously thinking that's where we might stay next time.
Well, the pros are definitely your surroundings, for one. The homes are just incredible, and if you're interested in that sort of thing, you can gawk to your heart's content. And the many walkways and paths lead you everywhere, which is what I always loved about Seaside. Also, with kids, there are so many pools, playgrounds, common green areas for them to play--we felt like they'd have everything and more that they needed right there in the "neighborhood." For a parent, that's really attractive.
The cons are mainly what I mentioned earlier--I felt like we kept leaving RB to do everything. Shop, eat, etc. In some ways, that end of the beach feels so far away from everything to me, but maybe I need to broaden my horizons!

Oh gosh, Peapod, based on your nice write of Borago, I am now going to have to begin making reservations when I eat there. ;-) I knew you would love it.

Sorry I was hanging over while you were here. I now understand why it is called a hang over -- you end up hanging over something. :puke:
