I think it would be great from about spring break (mid March) to Labor Day. What about after that? Can you make enough just during that time? My questions are:
1) Where would you sell them from? What permits are required from the locations to sell them?
2) Permits for food service? Inspections and all of that can get pricey.
3) Storage of the food supplies during off hours.
4) Storage of hot dog cart in off hours.
You won't have a lot of capital in the hot dog cart itself, but what about other costs?
Jfunn, I think you would be grayt at this!
Shelly, perhaps they are selling it because everything is always a lot more work than people think. I think to ever be successfull at ANYTHING, you have to be willing to put the time & hard work it takes into it, not just the money. In my time I have found that most people are not. I have rented out of good bit of commerical property and can't tell you how many people I won't rent to because say for example our commerical property on 30-A......Daddy calls because wife/daughter wants to open a boutique, have no experience, they just want to open it. It never works so I am looking for a new tenant in six months. Being successful at anything takes a lot of time and hard work.
