Kudos to our Alan Boyd for voting against this bill, joining NW Florida's other Rep, Mr. Miller in a unanimous NO from the Panhandle.

Now maybe the 219 democrats and 1 republican will share with the rest of us mere mortals exactly where the 1.2 Trillion needed to pay for this is coming from.

This is shear insanity. Like a family about to be foreclosed on borrowing money for a new Rolls Royce.:bang::bang::bang:

Call Alan Boyd's D.C. office and let them know how dissappointed you are in his vote.! I have been calling all day, and encouraging my friends to do so as well!.

I call my Representative and other Representatives all the time. I called Allen Boyd's office to commend him for his sensible vote on the Pelosi bill.

The problem is we have no idea how many illegals are in the country...some say 10MM, 15MM and 20MM. When they want the number to sound more catastrophic they throw in the illegals. One of the first times I actually heard a Dem not include them was when President Obama delivered his big HC speech. Regardless, neither plan covers all the uninsured, and whether or not the government can require an American to buy anything (insurance, bread, cars etc.) as is laid out within the (current) context of the constitution is yet to be seen. I believe it was in 2001 when in an interview Obama said there were fundamental flaws within the constitution, so I don't doubt for a moment his desire to ammend the document for redistribution purposes. The only thing that is certain is we have moved away from being the innovative nation we once were. We are simply following in the footsteps of other nations on this important matter. There are so many examples on display for us to look at and realize that the future can only lead to a complete and total government takeover of our health and well being. This is nothing more than a power grab, and a big blue ribbon they can pin on the donkey - bravo dbags. The politics of the day will be the central decision maker in our health and well being. It might sound dandy when the ideology you share is running the show, but the one thing we know for certain is political majorities change. Instead of professionals that dedicate a lifetime working in one field creating policy and procedure, a revolving door of crooked politicians will now be the puppet masters deciding what care your ill mother can or can't receive because of some other govt program that needs funding. Choose not to believe it and walk blindly towards the govt cheese, fine - as they say, a sucker is born every minute. I'm not saying for a second we don't have a problem that needs solving, but any path that could lead to complete govt. run healthcare sucks!

Don't worry, soon there won't be any illegals in the country, David Vitter has a solution - - - -

The anti-immigrant crowd has taken a novel approach to dealing with illegals, said Gregory Rodriguez. They?ve decided to pretend they don?t exist. That?s the upshot of a bill recently introduced by Republican Sen. David Vitter of Louisiana, which would order the federal government not to count illegals in the 2010 census. ?Rabid restrictionists,? of course, love this proposal because it accomplishes on paper what the government cannot achieve in practice?make millions of people simply disappear.

Now, I fully agree that illegal immigrants don?t deserve the benefits of full citizenship. But these people came here to work, and they cut our lawns, wash our dishes, and even pay taxes. The Constitution still grants them certain human rights. And that includes the right to be counted as living persons ?who occupy physical space within our national boundaries.? Refusing to count them accomplishes nothing.

Perhaps Vitter will next propose that Washington ?no longer recognize deficits in budgets, acknowledge casualties of war, or count hurricanes in weather reports.?

I can see where this is going. Vitter well frequent illegals for prostitution and when caught will claim they don't exist.:rotfl:

You usually get to talk to a real live person. That may be as far as it goes, but it makes me feel better to have either vented or expressed my point of view.
Sometimes it can become quite interesting. One time I ticked off one of Pelosi's people so bad that they hung up on me. They aren't suppose to do that.

I used to send letters. My reps sent envelopes so I could mail them a donation. I stopped sending letters. They still send envelopes. It's a racket.
