Just got down here a couple of hours ago for a short weekend stay in our little townhome in the Seacrest Beach area. We just put it on the rental market recently, but told the agency NOT to do their deep clean and set up until there was a rental.....so that we could use it freely until that time.

Well, we got here...and we've been wiped clean. All the basics that we left here...coffee, teas, splenda, sugar, salt, pepper, soups, spices, pasta, nice cooking oils, dog food, cleaning supplies, fish and meat in the freezer, and even clothes detergents etc. are all gone. Probably when you add it all up, $300 to $500 stuff stolen, gone.

It's always been so easy to run down here for the weekend, go to the grocery store to pick up a couple things to cook since we keep all the basics...we don't eat out much here. Now it will cost us quite a bit to eat out all weekend versus being able to cook at home as we like to. What a rip off. Hell, we can't even wake up in the morning to a good cup of coffee. No gourmet coffee and the coffee filters are gone too! Oh, not to mention the nice liquid hand soaps at the sinks,......jeez....I'm so pissed at the folks that think they can just take these things from peoples homes.

The good side is: waves are kicking up and we're hoping BobbyJ and friends are having a great time with that. And....under the current circumstances...we only have to be here without the comfort of home for 2 days.

And did I say that we specifically told them not to do this?
Sorry for whining, but it's a long drive to come find out you would have been better at home in Atlanta.

So sorry to hear this. Do you think it may have been the housekeeping that cleaned that stuff out, thinking it was left by a renter? :dunno:

Have funn!

Haha. Most of the lightbulbs are still here thank goodness!

You know, when it comes down to it, it's always better here than in Atlanta. I just really enjoy morning coffee and some simple things you get when you're not wiped clean.

Now, we've gotta go out for coffee in the morning, laundry can't be done here anymore...arghhhh...

but it's all still better than being in Atlanta!:clap_1:

Don't you have a locked owner's closet? Just drive down to the Pubix and buy some stuff. We keep massive amounts of stuff in our owner's closets. Long live Tupperware!

It just takes awhile to get used to the fact that your house is on the rental program. Even if you know you are not going to get renters for several months, the agencies always want it to be rental ready. Miss Kitty is probably right -- the cleaners just went in and did SOP and didn't know of your wishes at all.

Keep a locked owners' closet, remove anything (and I mean anything) of sentimental value, and prepare yourself. Most of our renters have been very considerate but there are always going to be frustrations. But it can be fine too, and as you already are seeing, it IS better in SoWal with or without coffee supplies.

Has anyone out there kept a small fridge in an owners' closet? It's probably unadvisable but the idea is intriguing nonetheless. We are always bringing up dumb things like honey mustard sauce and creamer in a cooler.

Oh wow is this some new adult novelty store in PCB? :dunno:

I can see why you would keep it locked in your owners closet.

Thanks for the kind words and advice. We'll take the advice for sure. We don't have much in the way of an owners closet, but it will do.

As for this point in time, I'm PUI. :clap_1: :rotfl: So I'll just let it go for now. Thanks so much for everything.!!!!

My hubby is the KING of owner's closets! Oh Yeah! We have a fridge in one of our owner's closets! I will admit, it's nice to be able to have a cold refreshment after everything has been "loaded in" from the car upon arrival. :D
