October 1st ish is my time for the coast or close to it. I have always kinda like the seafood festival, don't really know why.. just to see what may have change.
The weather is really great and the crowds are at a minimum.
The fishing rodeo has began... and before Peter Bos got involved... You could go to the docks have a few cool ones and see what everyone brought in. It just really is a good time for the coast.

Terrible. No just kidding. :welcome: Actually that is the best time of year. Don't tell anyone!

We have a house in the Seacrest Beach development with the 12,000 square foot pool (it's for rent, great Gulf views, PM me if interested) and my boys swam in October and early November this year. The pool is not heated btw. The weather that time of year is darned close to perfect. There is a great wine festival sometime in October in Rosemary that is very popular. You can't go wrong!

Edit to say that the water does cool off from its bathwater summer highs, but I don't think it's too cold for most people to swim until sometime in November. I'm sure someone else can provide more details.

Don't they heat the smaller pool over by The Village of South Walton? I remember hearing that somewhere.

I think I have heard that too. I think it is only for Village people. :rotfl::wave: If we as Seacrest Beach North owners were able to use it, I think our association would have told us, and I haven't heard anything official.

Our family of five targets late October - early November for a week of fun and have never been disappointed. Water is still warm and beach is deserted (at least around Carillon). Rental prices are right, too.

I have one thing to add: September can be HOT as Hades, and the dog flies can be a problem, especially in early September. October and early November, however, would be my favorite time of year (except for May and early June :D, my other favorite time of year).

Just my .02 worth.

That explains the Indian, cop, construction worker, and sailor hanging around there. :funn:

I dont know if the pool is heated at the Village or not but Seacrest Beach North homeowners are not allowed to use that pool. The Inn at Seacrest Beach's pool is able to be heated but because of the price to do so we (the board) rarely do. I have caught many Seacrest Beach renters and owners who have jumped the fence to get into the Inn pool...
