BeachDreamer said:Oh man, that is funny! (Though I bet a bit uncomfortable for you... what are the odds??) I have no idea how I would react to flying, but my uncle is extremely phobic. He has to medicate himself, and even then has been known to have a panic attack or simply pass out on his way to his flight. Sad part is, he married a native hawaiian and they live in Kauai. Not a good place to live when you have problems flying.
We're hoping to save up enough money to fly to Hawaii soon. All we would need would be plane tickets, but for a family of four that would be over $2000. One day though! I've committed myself to staying home with our children while they are at home, but when they are grown we should be more free (time-wise and financially) to travel more. I do wish we could do those things while our kids are little and so full of wonder, but I don't regret our sacrifices a bit. We'll get our turn. It will just be after "retirement".![]()
Very good choice, and you are so right about time to do things later. A sense of security in a child cannot be bought and having a full time parent is very good. I worked and juggled raising the girls and while they turned out great, I regret that they were unable to be lazy children ...not have to get up, be dressed, fed, and at the sitter by 7 am. Enjoy every crazy moment...they do not last. However, adult children are really fun, too. Just in a different way.
