Yes, Chris Mitchell, PIO for Walton County, FL, was reporting on The Weather Channel of flooding. Heard one report about roads being closed in North Walton. Wonder how neighborhoods that have flooding problems in SoWal are doing. The eastern end of SoWal didn't seem to get as much as the western end which includes Sandestin. Will be curious to see actual stats.

Now, at 4:36 p.m., Saturday, March 28, it is partly sunny and nice. We had a ton of rain. The coastal dune lakes really filled up. Hopefully, those that needed to broke out on their own. Our streets have drained, but were quite flooded earlier. Lots of sand and natural landscaping helps. People are on the beach in bathing suits, fishing, walking, etc.

Channel 4 out of Dothan (Mediacom for East SoWal) is reporting a local state of Emergency for Walton County as of 8:08 p.m. Don't know what all this means, but heard one report earlier that over 400 miles of roads in North Walton were closed! :yikes: So be careful as you are traveling out and about in the county. Know this could be a concern tonight and tomorrow as guests are traveling down for Spring Break in SoWal.

I drove the Western part of 30-A yesterday after it stopped raining and all was good. Oyster Lake was still intact. Docks at Hogtown Bayou were level with waterline, but no worse for the wear. Apparently the worst of the storms hit the North end of the county. Surf was way up yesterday afternoon and within about 10 feet of the lifeguard station at Ed Walline.
