We attened the meeting last night at the library. It was hosted by the EOC, Red Cross and SoWal FD. Great information and some eye opening figures.

We went expecting to get some usable info littie did we know there would be a floor show as well.

About 20 mins. into it some older fella interupted and started questioning the EOC representatives. He kinda went nuckin' futz yappin' about an incident that occured between him and Calhoun County officials when he tried to evacuate back in '95. Yep, '95...

He was eventually asked to leave by an off duty WCSO deputy but could still be heard havin' a cow out in the foyer.

Does anyone know who let this guy out? Is he a local that often goes to events like this? I have to tell ya, it was one of the most entertaining things I've seen in a while.

He kept yelling "Anarchy!!!":lolabove:

It was classic...:funn:

Did he start yelling about constitutional rights and private property? Maybe it was WR!

The meetings I've been to have always had at least one 'Angry.' We call them Contrarians and they are comical. Can you youtube that meeting? :D

If it was '95 he was stuck on, that would be Hurricane Opal.
I bet nearly everyone who was here for Opal has a horror story or two, especially about the so-called "evacuation."
Most of us have the good sense to forget about it, though.

The evacuation did catch us off guard. The storm jumped to a Cat 5 and doubled its forward speed in two hours. Tallahassee was asking for an estimate of the number of body bags we needed. It was a very scary thing indeed. But the SO did a fantastic job of letting people know the best that they could. Still so many stuck on the roads.
