I heard that the on ramp to I-65 from South Blvd. in Montgomery is closed and traffic is being routed 31 to Prattville, and jumping back on I-65 there. My mom was stuck in very slow moving traffic last Saturday, which I realize is a heavy beach traffic day.

I am going through there tomorrow - has anybody heard if the 31 detour traffic is as bad on a weekday? Or should I go the Andalusia/Georgiana route?

Alabama DOT website is not giving much info-- yo, Landlocked?

Thanks, and I just need basic construction traffic info, since the 331 vs. Georgiana "best route" has been debated enough and I don't need to re-read more opinions on the fastest route to SoWal. (sorry- pressed for time and don't want to rehash old threads)

Traffic going up 31 really isn't that bad. I use it all the time.

I'm just glad they're fixing 65. You know a highway is bad if you have to close your sunroof so you aren't thrown out of the car.

jdarg-

You can also cut over to 85 which dumps you onto 65 north of all the construction. Probably just as quick if not faster.

jdarg, the ramp was open last week (Tuesday) when I was driving up to B'ham, and I had no troubles on the return trip on Friday. There was construction going on, and I don't remember any signs saying that the ramp would close.

I know that isn't a precise answer, only my experience at two seperate points in recent time:D
