for you magnolia leaf haters, the leaves can make for great mulch. The trick is to round them up, place them in large trash can filled about one qrt to half way. Get out your weed whacker and run it inside the trash can, mulching the leaves.
If you place the chopped leaves as mulch in your beds, you will not have to worry about weeds growing up through the leaves into your garden. ;-)
EDIT: Always wear safety equipment, and use a metal trash can so that the weed whacker string will not chop you RubberMaid.
