I'll sometimes get seasick on smaller boats...and since we'll be doing some catamaran excursions on the cruise next week , I took the advice of some friends and tried out a sample of Bonine last night (the "less drowsy" dramamine) to see how it affected me before using it on the ship. OMG. LESS drowsy? Than what, a coma? Mr Blue could not wake me up this morning, even at 10am!! He put a cup of hot coffee in my hand ....and i FELL ASLEEP holding it. Didnt spill it though, because I am still so out of it I can barely move...it's like rigor mortis. It's taking eveything I have to type this, and retype it for legibility. Man, I knew I was a lightweight, but this is ridiculous.

It's past lunch time and I still can barely funtcion. Must less pack, which is still not completed --and we leave tomorrow. Not sure why I felt the need to share this, but hey, it's the lounge, and I'm out of my head. Stupid Bonine. I thought it was just a mild antihistimine...

MythBusters did a double blind test and regular OTC Ginger Pills worked as good as drugs.

KatieBlue, Unless you get motion sickness in a car I just wouldn't worry about it. You said you got sick on small boats, that's totally different than a cruise ship. Take Bonine with you and if you happen to feel sicky, take one and go to bed. Other than that, I would just forget it. You will be so busy doing other things you probably won't notice. The only time it bothered me whatsoever was at dinner. Just think about something else, think about us. Have funn.:clap_1:

For a cruise, a general medical doctor can prescribe a Transderm patch. You put it on about 2 hrs before sailing and change in to a fresh patch in 24 hrs. No noticable side effects, and I get motion sickness on the merry go round.

I also remember once when Lama Alexander's son overdosed on Motion sickness pills on a cruise It happened in Australia. Lamar and his family were there on vacation after his term as governor of Tennessee.

The boat we went out on had the pills sitting around in dishes like after dinner mints. The kid was about 8 years old and just ate too many.

Thanks, y'all. Really not worried about the cruise itself, it's those one-off reef expeditions that just might get me. But I'm sticking with ginger, and whatever will be will be. It really was just a surprise how much that one little pill put me out for 24 hours. Oh, I'm back now, but yesterday was a **complete wash.**

Woohoo, it's vacation time!
