I certainly couldn't tell this weekend!! Cheap gas, lots of filler-uppers. Stores packed. Lots of big sacks and boxes being carried out. Long lines. Lots of traffic. I think everyone got started shopping yesterday since it was cold and windy. Today, it was beautiful, so I don't know what the reason was today. But if this weekend in Texas was any indication, I don't think the retailers have much to worry about!

My DH totally agrees with you! He said you could never tell by the traffic that gas :D $4.00 a gallon. I am going to try to get most of my shopping on line. I am not ready to fight the crazy people. A trip to WalMart is all I can stand. ( In my small town, there are no other options.):bang:

Mr. K and I laughed our bottoms off in the car today. We read the Neiman Marcus Christmas Book to one another. When we hit Dallas, it went in the recycle can. :D

Same here, DD. The upscale stores may be hurting, but the discount places were packed this weekend, and yes, people were buying.

I paid $2.01/gal for MID grade today. I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop, and I'm still trying to drive like it's $4+/gallon. The price of my natural gas also went way the heck down again, but I'll still dress warm in the house and try to save some cash there, too. My family never spends a whole lot at Christmas, anyway, so I'm going to hold steady there and try to find good, meaningful gifts. (I should probably get crackin' soon.)

Lots to be thankful for...

Nope it finally is reasonable...1.75:D:clap: I ususally go on Sat. AM around 7 but lately have been too lazy. That is when I find the slowest and least decisive people. Just a real test of patience.

I'm loving the cheap gas. I know it won't last.

It dropped below $2.00 here in sowal. We are absolutely gleeful over $1.98. However we are doing like NoHall and still driving like it's thru the roof. No need to drive it back up needlessly.

The next night I wake at 2:30 instead of surfing, I will get dressed and go to Wally World. Should be an adventure

We have two nearby towns that have gas 10-15 cents cheaper than it is here. I try to find a reason to go there a fill up. I know I am not saving anything, but after the ridiculous prices I love to get a good deal.
