I think I might be having a panic attack. Makes me want to get my passport application finished and get ready for the big move to Costa Rica....like we promised back in 2004 when Dubya won the second time around.

With "patriots" like you and Alec Baldwin around, no wonder there is such deviseness in this country. Alec should have left in 2000 or 2004, we would have been better off without him. Just because his candidate doesn't win, he threatens to move to leave the country. Now that's what I call patriotic. I say good riddance. Adios. Goodbye. Leave. He won't be missed.

As for me, if Obama wins (and that sounds really, really scary to me), I will stay here and work as hard as I can to succeed and to help my country succeed. I'll pay the higher taxes (because I'm "rich"), watch spending grow even more than it has under Bush, watch our military go to pot, watch us cowtow to dictators like A-hole-makdinjiad (SP), see the economy drop further into the depths, watch our medical system be socialized, etc.

BUT, unlike many bleeding heart liberals during the Bush reign, I won't make idle threats to leave for another country. No, I will still be proud to be an American!

Now that is a Patriot! I have goosebumps and just got back in from marching around the neighborhood singing the National Anthem at the top of my lungs, I was so inspired! Which is it I wonder though ..succeed or go to pot..? and, really, is it possible for spending to grow more than it has under Bush?..the money is nearly figmentary as it is. Really, I can't stop humming to myself ..."中國民族到了大翻身的時候"...I must march some more, back in a bit.

And even if you make less than $250,000 you will be hit with the capital gains tax! Not to mention when corporations & business owners have to pay higher taxes guess where they get the funds to do that....you got from those of us who make under $250,000. That does not take a brain surgeon to figure out.

I could have read the first paragrah and agreed. Those idle threats make me do this... The rest of the post, dilutes the first part, IMO.

My question to those of you that say you will dust off your multiple passports or get a new one to leave ....WHY? :dunno:

Exactly. If it became that bad then the US$ would be worthless, or near-so, and anywhere you chose to esape to would already be full of native people who speak the language and are more capable than you at acquiring the basics of life..what would you do? Our $ is what differentited us.

Not true. Under Obama's plan, if you make less than $250,000 your capital gains rate stays at the current 15%. He did say in the past he was open to raising them as high as 28% for people making over $250,000. However his tax plan shows people making over $250,000 will return to 20%. That is the same rate Bush proposed in his 2001 tax cut and almost a third lower than the rate Reagan set in 1986.

Can we really believe any of what is coming out of these candidates mouths? This is a fluid situation and who knows what is to come! :dunno:

I predict it will be hard for either of them to keep all their wish lists intact.
