As far as I know your choice is Centurytel DSL, Mediacom cable, and cell service with a wireless card. Some of the new smart phones also have tethering which means you connect your phone to your computer for wireless internet. Verizon has this with the Iphone now.

From what I hear DSL is the best choice for reliability and speed is fine.

Mediacom is definitely not available. That's why I was hoping someone in the neighborhood would have a definitive answer and not speculation.

Are you sure? I know people a block away from you that have Mediacon. :dunno:

we have mediacom on n. andalusia, and - knock wood - do not have any problems with it except when everything is knocked out during a big storm. and even this doesn't happen often. not too happy with the cable - need more channels and a better picture - but at least we get all of those we are most interested in, except for fox business. our internet is wireless with our apple airport and really is very good. if i have jinxed myself, i am going to be ticked! ;-)

My roomate said mediacom is not available there. I will definitely look into it. Thanks.

I have mediacom here where I am in SRB and agree about the pretty poor service provided by mediacom, but they're the only game in town if you want cable, sadly. I wish Cox cable was available out here.

I'm near Eastern Lake and have DSL from CenturyLink. Very good uptime, consistent speed, and customer service has been good in the once or twice I've had to call them since 2004.
