Internet Warning For Members of Yahoo, AOL, Hotmail, Etc...

Use snopes even if the warning email contains a link to snopes purporting that it is true.

They've caught on, but assume people won't check it, which is why I keep getting emails from my aunt that have a link to snopes............even though the link says it's a crock!

Thanks BB, at least you seemed appreciative, at my effort!;-) I'm not all stupid, I do have Snopes bookmarked and I did search, for the warning. I couldn't find it in the few minutes, that I had to look. And, I consider myself to be fairly, intelligent! So go ahead guys, tar and feather me, cause I'm not perfect, like you!

Hey Diane, the Life is Beautiful hoax is on the main page for snopes, ranked the number five out of the top-15 most searched urban legends on Snopes.com. It was number 2 yesterday. The top-15 list is on the left side of the page. For searching, simply type in a few sentences of the suspicious email, or copy and paste, into the search bar on snopes, and it will quickly appear, unless you are on dial up.

Contrary to what beachmouse25 might insinuate in his post, no one has written that you posted this thread with malice. Also, no one has claimed to be perfect. This is only the umpteenth time that people have posted bogus scare emails, and about the umpteenth time that people have requested that others verify by a couple of clicks on snopes.com before spreading more garbage. It would take no longer for one to verify on Snopes.com than it takes to create your own thread on SoWal.com.

With people's lack of want or ability to verify things, I am glad that very few people carry loaded hand guns.
