Rapunzel puts on a great caucus party. I never knew watching politics could be so much fun! Goofer's commentary was the icing on top!

I am not too concerned about Huckabee's win- yet. Out of all the candidate's last night, he was the most un-Presidential in appearance and demeanor. Having Walker Texas Ranger and Mrs. Texas Ranger standing behind him totally made the "Hick-abee" bells go off. He may play well to the religious right in Iowa, but I don't think he will be able to do that everywhere, especially New Hampshire, where they will probably laugh him out of the state.

Edward's speech was very disappointing- if he pulled out one more sob story, I thought I would be sick.

Hillary's speech was the surprise of the night for me. It was classy, uniting, and positive for the Democrats as a whole. I am not saying I like her, but somebody rehearsed her well for last night, because she came off better than I have ever seen her.

Missed Obama's speech- we were driving home. Who saw it?

What the Iowa vote (Iowa only) said to me:

1. Gobs of money don't matter anymore in an election.
2. Negative Campaigns will possibly not be the way to go in 2008.
3. Washington Insiders need to go elsewhere.

What will New Hampshire say? Very exciting.

Damn, hate that I missed this. It is interesting that both candidates would be a death blow to their party, unless the other wins the nomination. Obama! may, but thank the Lord Jesus Christ Almighty Hallelujah that Huckabee doesn?t stand a chance. Fun to watch if nothing else. Only in America can a state firmly latched onto the government teat, with a historical 6% turnout, a whopping 7 electoral votes, and the silliest and least democratic method of choosing a candidate become a kingmaker.
