Ironic Hypocracy! The former deadhead has a bufoonish following who devoure his every bigoted thought served up as opinion....the latter "married" clown, and Former Speaker of the House, announced to his first wife details of their divorce while she lay recovering from major surgery--with his second poor wife, he had an adulterous affair revealed.

Oh, I can just hear the Right blubber about how marital controversies and kids should be kept out of this discussion,. B_ _llsh_t. And I am sure Monica will come up too..yada yada.

IMO if you don't approve of abortion or gay marriage, don't get one.

Quit writing laws and screwing up my world to fit YOUR religious views.

I love that some of the Teabagger icons have come out against something so unconstitutional. Anyone want to tell me how a law that clearly violates the full faith and credit clause isn't?

What's really funny is how the states that fought so hard against gay marriage are going to have to now honor gay marriage certificates, but all of the associated monies of a wedding will be vacuumed out faster than they can recite Leviticus.

What is ironic or hypocritic is the chosen one picking and choosing which laws he will enforce. I believe he has violated his oath and should be impeached.

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

Please post the section of the Constitution that makes it legal to discriminate against someone based on their sexuality.

President Obama's actions in no way violate his oath of office or the Constitution.

Obama does not believe the law is constitutional and so has stated that his administration will not oppose legal CHALLENGES to the law. However, it still remains a law until Congress repeals it, or a court issues a final ruling striking it down.

Individual states allowed interracial marriage, but it took a Supreme Court decision to get it allowed in every state - 80 years after the end of the Civil War.

Anti-gay marriage rhetoric is frequently the same as anti-miscegenation rhetoric.

Same old crap, just directed at a different group.

Since when is Obama the United States Supreme Court? He is sworn to protect and defend the Constitution, not interpret it. That Constitution reads:
Article 2 - The Executive Branch
Section 3 - State of the Union, Convening Congress
He shall from time to time give to the Congress Information of the State of the Union, and recommend to their Consideration such Measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient; he may, on extraordinary Occasions, convene both Houses, or either of them, and in Case of Disagreement between them, with Respect to the Time of Adjournment, he may adjourn them to such Time as he shall think proper; he shall receive Ambassadors and other public Ministers; he shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed, and shall Commission all the Officers of the United States.

It does not say that he can enforce only the laws he agrees with. I guess the next conservative President can decide not to defend challenges to Roe v. Wade and you will be ok with that.

If you don't like a law there is one constitutional way to change it. Pass a bill repealing it in the Congress and have the President sign it.

Nowhere did Obama say he wasn't going to enforce the law.

He has just said that his administration will not oppose legal challenges to the law.

No new law. No new lack of enforcement of law.

It will come down to Congress and the courts, not Obama.
