All kidding aside,
We should be really excited as a country that we have a viable candidate that inspires people and his only known flaws are:

1) He used to smoke and still sneaks cigarettes behind his wife's back (per your article)

2) He lives across the street from someone indicted for something or another and he bought his lot the same day that guy did and got a good deal

3) His pastor has some mildly out there ideas

You mean that's it??!!!! Tell me why this isn't good news...

Compared to he resumes of our current administration, previous ones and politicans in general- Obama looks pretty clean...

:dunno:

Set me straight...

Yes, some politicians are better than others. My point is that in order to survive in poliTRICKS, one must play the game, and that often comes with great sacrifice to one's principles and beliefs, because winning takes priority.

I don't know why I am bothering but...

I presume your "oh my" means that when I said mildly that you believe it was an understatement...

Did you read the Wright transcript? Please answer the question. Did you read all of it?

sj, such cycnicsm in a well rounded person like yourself. tsk tsk.

I don't see a sacrifice in obama's principles and beliefs at all - I see an unfortunate and painful break between long time friends. Senator Obama has shown us time and again who he is and what he stands for. if you don't get this by now, you never will.

Obama stood by Rev Wright for a long time, and only last week wisely chose to reject him. So you think Rev Wright suddenly started preaching a different message last week, which caused his friend of 20 years to denounce him? According to some, Rev Wright's open letter to a writer with the NY Times, one year ago, shows that the Reverend and Obama knew they would have to sever ties at some point in time when the ties got in the way of getting into the Office. I've read the open letter in the 36 page Church bulletin, but I don't quite pick up on that.

If it wasn't a political move which caused the recent denouncement by Obama, I don't know what it was. Rev Wright doesn't seem to have changed his speeches. You can choose to ignore it, but poliTRICKS changes everyone. There is no push with pull.

hey bob. that article was kind of lame. the guy didn't tell us a thing. oh well. keep digging.;-)

you like him don't you? the senator, that is..
I don't dislike Obama,I find it odd that his pitch is he's different. He's every bit the same as Hillary and John, with the exception of being extremely obtuse about his left wing bent. The purpose of the articles is to illustrate the greasy dealings of Chicago politics, and how his past associations end up in divorce as he has run for office. Why would Obama have Rezko arrange the purchase of his home, intervene on his behalf in State matters to the benefit of Mr. Rezko's business, allow him to pour campaign money into his coffers on multiple occasions, and then play down his relationship with the man. It is no different than when McCain played footsie with Keating.

Bob -- why don't you find something to not complain about somewhere. Perhaps you could start a McCain thread and talk about his plans to turn the country around and get it going in the right direction. :funn:

I grow bored of Negative Nancy. Seriously.

Yes, I do think that is an understatement. I doubt you'll be the one to change my mind on that. No I haven't read the sermon ,do you want me to?
If,I decided to vote for Obama,it wouldn't be because his preacher is just a mis-understood man,by people who didn't read the whole sermons.

CP,

You're right-
I won't likely be the one to change your mind considering you are apparently the type to respond to something I said with an "Oh my" but apparently not the type who would first try to understand what it is you are "Oh my-ing" about...

I knew I shouldn't have bit. Good day.
