Geowicky, Good for you. Now you know why the Catholic Church is so vehemently opposed to liberation theology.Scratch the surface a little deeper and you will find comrade Marx at the root.

FYI the Catholic Church is the largest religious group in the U.S.
2 or 3 x bigger than the second place Baptist. An important constituency for anyone trying to become Commander in Chief.

What astonishes me is why would a smooth operator like Obama hang with a racist assbag like Wright. On the surface they both profess totally different things.
You have to wonder what lies beneath?
Politics would be my guess. At the risk of being accused of McCarthyism, as well as all of the swell slanders previously posted here against me, I will say it.
Obama is Red

Hillary is going to clean his clock in Pa.
Then he can go back to his racist church and preach the good gospel of income redistribution.

Please allow me to expand the discussion to some other fine religious leaders. Check the manuscript from Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell soon after the 9/11 attacks. http://www.actupny.org/YELL/falwell.html

I personally find these comments as despicable as Rev. Wright's. Didn't Mccain just flip flop his opinion on Falwell and Robertson from agents of intolerance to respected Christian leaders to help sure up his conservative cred?

Wow - that is pretty harsh and cynical and a good indication of why this country is so split - that one can speak in such disparaging terms about one's inclination to redress some of this country's economic disparity is quite startling to me (call me naive).

This is exactly where I was heading in my first point to Further...
There seems to be a double standard with this Wright scandal. You didn't see remarks like these sink Republicans who court these religious leaders and their flocks...

So the tough question is-
Is this because it was Republican vs. Democrat or is ths because it is white vs. black?

OK I'm slow but I get it, your funnin with me. It's a joke right?
Two cynical Popes and myself walk into a bar arguing against Marxist income redistribution and the punch line is. Castro has been trying that for 50 years and the people of Cuba are laughing tears. The people of eastern Europe are laughing tears. I'm laughing tears into my beer and will say no more.

As for the Reverends.
I know we have become a nation of appeasers and equivocators, but tossing all of these preachers into the same basket won't work.
One group is talking the morality of Abortion and Homosexuality.
While Wright is "preaching" Hate against Whitey, The American Government and the Capitalist system that has made us the envy of the world.
Orate and rationalize till you drop but apples and oranges will always be apples and oranges.

Two thoughts:

  1. Was Jesus a socialist or a capitalist?
  2. Is tithing Marxist?

Answers to the first questions that include red letter Bible verses to support the assertion would be most appreciated.
