We've had some Bundt cake shops opening up around our area this last year, it's a chain called Nothing Bundt Cakes-they have mini cupcake sized ones, mini bunts and regular sized-different flavors but all with cream cheese frosting-quite tasty! The mini bundt is probably 5 inches across and readily serves 2 but 4 if you just want a small sweet and I think they're $4. The perk is that they have tasters out all of the time so you get a once in square bite for free!!
Um, could it be because the whole family can each get a different flavor? Or maybe because they get it served to them and they can then eat it while strolling around an interesting, scenic location instead of their kitchen table, which doesn't have much of a view? Oh, wait. Maybe it's because they enjoy a little company with their coffee or vodka? A little music, or a little art? A change of scenery?I often wondered why people would go out to buy icecream for a family of five, for $5 a person, when they can buy a quart to serve everyone for $5. All the ice-cream shops seem to have a line 20 people deep throughout the summer so I guess people really don't shop with logic and reason when they are on vacation. Once you start salivating, $5 is a cheap fix.
I guess you could also compare it to the coffee craze where people pay $5 for a 30 cent cup of coffee. Or, the bar craze, where people pay $8 for a dollar's worth of vodka.
Those Nothing Bundt Cakes are soooooo cute!!!! I've had a couple of bites and they were quite tasty. There's one in Southlake, right around the corner from Charming Charlie's-my new favorite store. I have to keep my car from turning in there. I have taken the cakes to a couple of customers. They always seem appreciative.
I'm with Murray. Even if you buy two flavors at Publix, it's still cheaper for one evening, and you have ice cream for the entire week. And better than putting up with the staff at a certain business who are surly unless you are close to their age. Even when you give them a nice tip.Um, could it be because the whole family can each get a different flavor? Or maybe because they get it served to them and they can then eat it while strolling around an interesting, scenic location instead of their kitchen table, which doesn't have much of a view? I guess if you apply enough logic and reason you can get all these things for free. Was that your point?
I loooove Charming Charlie's! I got a little dress that I use as a coverup-I especially love that it's color coded by area!!
