SWGB long time poster and probably guilty of everything.

Seriously, when I first started the lounge was, at times, like being in a foreign country and I didn't know the language. There were words, acronyms, and nicknames that I had no clue about, but I stayed, I studied, and I learned.

This is an online community very much like real life. People will NOT always get along, to believe otherwise is foolish. Things will be said that might make you upset, you have the choice to hold a grudge and dislike that person without explanation, or you can be an adult and perhaps send a PM. There have been threads and posts that started off as myself or another person thinking it was a direct insult. After a PM or two we were good and in most cases have become good friends.

Like real life there is good natured razzing, poking fun, and teasing. If it offends you contact the person doing it and explain your issue, or use the ignore feature. Sowal is a wonderful place where you can completely customize your experience using tools such as the ignore feature. I don't use this feature as I have learned or been amused by something posted by someone that I normally wouldn't talk to.

You can put up barriers all day long, but eventually you have left yourself in a very boring and isolated little box.

Just my 2 cents.

Two quotes I ran across today, both by John Wayne.

"Courage is being scared to death, but saddling up anyway"

Kind of how I felt when I started posting.

"I've always followed my father's advice: he told me, first to always keep my word and, second, to never insult anybody unintentionally. If I insult you, you can be ******* sure I intend to. And, third, he told me not to go around looking for trouble."

good advice.

I feel like a little puppy dog hearing something inside a store, sticking my nose up against the window trying to peer in. But then my breath fogs the glass and I cannot see anything so I move over a few feet. After doing this a few times, it suddenly hits me that I need to pee so I go and look for a fire hydrant. By the time I put my right rear foot back on the ground, I have forgotten what the excitement was all about and I start dreaming about what's for dinner.

WTF? Someone ran off ClintClint? :dunno:

I figured he was just waiting for someone to tee a good one up so he could have another great perverted zinger.

If you don't like the middle school crap, ignore it and don't participate in it! Otherwise, put on your big girl panties and have some pucking funn - that's what Sowal is for!

spoken like a true wench. I always have on my big girl panties.

Nope, still no clue as to WHAT unfolded, let alone how!

Best I can figure is some folks REALLY need to step away from the keyboard and gain perspective/reality more often. Feel like I'm getting the update on what my other teenagers were up to while I was on the trail - lots of drama, not so much actual content.
